Haven’t Forgotten About You

Hello. I haven’t forgotten about you, or this site, or the small project of trying to document things with a camera while writing about them occasionally. I know it’s been quiet here; that’s not neglect, it’s just the natural rhythm of accumulating material before bothering to process it properly.

You may have noticed the site looks slightly different. It’s nothing to worry about. Just some cosmetic adjustments: fonts tidied up, spacing improved, the general infrastructure made slightly less creaky. Think of it as rearranging the furniture. The room works better this way.

What’s Actually Coming

The backlog is building nicely, which is the real reason for the silence. Photographs and notes have been accumulating like some benign hoarding project:

Jardin Extraordinaire is there, waiting for proper attention; the kind of place that rewards a careful look and detailed reflection.

Voyage à Nantes happened, and there’s a specific light and mood worth capturing properly. The notes are thorough enough to work with.

A visit to the zoo gave me photographs of animals in captivity; the usual mixture of wonder and mild discomfort that comes with the genre.

And then there’s Normandy. I’m heading there at the end of next week for my wife’s cousin’s wedding—a good opportunity to take the photographs. When I return, there will be more. They will be processed, written about, and shared in due course.

So: I’m busy getting things ready. You’ll see them soon enough. The site itself remains a work in progress. So do I.

Also: to my mum, happy birthday for tomorrow. The cake, at least, is not a cosmetic change.
