For three years I have been photographing the Symphonique des bords de Loire — rehearsals, concerts, the quiet moments before a performance and the loud ones during it. Not as a hired photographer standing at the back with a long lens. As a horn player with a camera and forty years of practice.
That is the kind of access I bring to every commission. I work from the inside. When you hire someone who understands how an orchestra breathes, or how a festival crowd shifts an hour before the headliner, it shows in the photographs.

Case study: Documenting the Symphonique des bords de Loire
A three-part documentary series shot over two seasons: backstage preparation, full-orchestra rehearsals, and live performance. Shot on black-and-white film — Ilford HP5+ pushed to 1600 — in available rehearsal light.
The series runs to over sixty published frames and three long-form essays. It is the kind of work that takes time and trust to make, and that no amount of brief and creative direction can replicate.

I shoot on film or digital depending on the brief and the light. Film — primarily Ilford HP5+, Tri-X, Fomapan — produces photographs that look different from digital work. If that quality fits your project, it is worth discussing.

Prices exclude VAT. Travel within Loire-Atlantique is included. Assignments outside the department are quoted separately. A full rate card is available on request.
